Course Description

This course is most suited to startup businesses, new entrepreneurs, anyone thinking about starting a business of their own.

It will also help anyone who wants to gain knowledge and awareness of the absolute fundamentals of what business development planning actually is.

This course is very much an introduction to the topic of business development so will not suit those who are looking for advanced strategic business development education (please message Sarah Cordiner if you’d like to take the advanced course - or go to courses.maintraining.com.au to find the Advanced Entrepreneur's Business Development Program).

This course is part of a 2-part series aimed to provide the startup business owner or new entrepreneur with the must-know fundamentals of business development.

It will provide an introductory overview of the following to ensure you are starting your business with the right foundations in place for success:

  • Learn the difference between working ON your business and IN your business and how vital it is that your time is carefully divided between the two by a certain ratio in startup phase
  • Understand the many different roles that we have to fill as business owners and how to use that knowledge to ensure that we stay in control of our business, instead of it in control of us
  • Learn what each of the different stages of business are from startup to ‘sell’ so that you can see the journey ahead of you, what each one involves, feels like and requires of you, and how to prepare for each
  • Learn what strategic business development actually is and how important this activity is as part of your business success
  • Learn when you should be formally conducting strategic business development planning in your business to ensure you keep increasing your income
  • Learn what the 7 stages of business development are so that you can implement them in your business
  • See the bigger picture of your business growth
  • Conduct your 12 month productivity plan to get the ball rolling on your business

The course is 10+ video lectures long and includes an activity at the end.
